Title: Lord of the Rings: The Card Game (new LCG from Fantasy Flight, NOT Decipher)
Post by: Bootylactin on July 28, 2011, 11:10:14 AM
Lotr-LCG is a fantastic new (released in April) card game from Fantasy Flight Games.  It's co-operative game (and can also be played solo), whereby the players compete against a scenario run by the game itself.  Game info can be found here:

Lord of the Rings: The Card Game (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=129&enmi=The%20Lord%20of%20the%20Rings:%20The%20Card%20Game)

Rules, FAQs, and a Video Tutorial can be found here:
Support Page (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=129&esem=4)

The creation of this plugin was born out of a want to play this game online with a close friend who now lives in Korea.  I introduced him to the game while he was visiting home, and he purchased his own copy the following day.

I'm in the final stages of finishing this plugin.  I've got a few cards left to scan, I'm working on the updatelist.txt, and I'm waiting for the next version of Lackey which should contain the final bug fixes that will allow my plugin to work with the new preferred XML format.

Stay tuned...

You can get high quality scans as well as all the data for the core set and the first expansion here Link (http://www.cardgamedb.com/index.php/lotr/lord-of-the-rings-card-spoiler)

helmgar,

Thanks for the link, and I was using those images originally.  I'm doing my own scans now because I have more control over the entire process, and can ensure that the cards look like they all "came from the same place".  I'm also doing some extra work in photoshop to try to improve the readability of the text at lower resolutions.

My plan is to release this plugin before I head to GenCon on Wednesday.  I've heard they are going to be releasing 2-3 ADDITIONAL expansions from the Mirkwood cycle at the con.  I will hopefully have all of them in my possession this time next week.

Until she makes her way into the public plugin finder, here's the info you need:

Plugin: The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game -  (Living Card Game from Fantasy Flight) ("lotr-lcg")
Home Page: http://bbql.org/lotr-lcg
Updatelist (high): http://bbql.org/lotr-lcg/sets/setimages/high/updatelist.txt
Updatelist (medium): http://bbql.org/lotr-lcg/sets/setimages/medium/updatelist.txt

Please pay special attention to the ReadMe.txt, which is included with the plugin but I will repeat here because it's simply that important:

Lord of the Rings: The Card Game presents a unique situation for Lackey, because the
Quest and Encounter decks are controlled by the game and not the players.  For the purposes
of this plugin, it is assumed that the first player will control the Encounter deck.

Included with this plugin are the 3 scenarios that ship with the Core Set.  To play any of the
three, do the following:

1. First build your deck as you normally would, leaving both the Quest and Encounter decks empty.  Save your deck.
2. Navigate to your /plugins/lotr-lcg/saved folder, and inside you will find a text file that pertains to each scenario.
3. Select the scenario you want to play, and make a COPY of this file in the same directory
4. Remove start.txt, if it exists in this folder.
5. Re-name the file you copied in step 3 to start.txt
6. Now return to Lackey and choose Main Menu > New Game.  This will load your chosen scenario.
7. Load in your player deck.
8. Click and drag a box around all of the orange Encounter cards on the table, drag them to the Encounter Deck, then shuffle it
9. Play the game and enjoy!

I'm off to GenCon tomorrow, so my responses will likely be delayed over the next 5 days.

Strange, so am I.  If I install the plugin fresh, and don't click the "Download All Images" button, then they come in fine one at a time.  But if I do click the Download All button, they all error, and then when I go to the Deck Editor and click through the cards one by one, some of them download, and then some of them don't.  At that point I shut down Lackey and restarted, then went back to the Deck Editor, and this time clicking through one by one, all of those that previously wouldn't load downloaded successfully.  I'm going to have to ask Trevor about this one, as I have no ideas.

All, I have made this change.  If you already downloaded the plugin, please remove your /plugins/lotr-lcg folder and pull it again.  The "Download All Missing Images" button now works.

anyone who wants to play send me a pm and we'll set up a time. it'll be my second game ever and I don't play using Lackey all that often, so you'll have to be a liiiittle patient, but practice makes perfect!

EDIT: Grim Resolve is missing its card image, should be 25.jpg

I just checked both the high and medium image folders, and 25.jpg is there in both. Have you tried quitting and re-starting Lackey?  Anyway know of a way to force a download of an image?

Works now... not sure why it wasn't showing up at first.

Also, have you considered changing the resource token text color? The white is nearly impossible to read, at least for me

Besides that I just ran through a solo game and everything seems to be working great. Thanks again!

Awesome. I like this game, so thanks for making the plugin!

I took the liberty of constructing the four core decks from the basic set, and put them online here (http://depositfiles.com/en/files/s63xh6mv3).

Edited: So I played a quick solo game, and noted while there's a method for playing Shadow cards face down, there's no actual way of flipping them face up. I've been using peek to check their effect - perhaps a "turn face up" option could be added in an update?

Hold CTRL and click the card.  This is a core Lackey CCG function, which is why I decided not to make an additional button.

Do I add the Hero cards to the chosen Player Deck? How do I get the Hero Cards laid out without going through the entire deck to find them? ??? ???

Thanks!

How do I draw form the encounter deck? I'm just dragging them onto the table.. is that correct? I see a button that says "draw encounter" but it doesn't seam to do anything.

Also, is there a hot key for adding and removing tokens? Right click is cumbersome....

And, is there anyway I can make the tokens look like images, at the moment they are just coloured dots?

And how do i get rid of that blue cross in the middle of the screen?

And lastly, is there a way to hotkey things like MARK and ERASE?

The plugin maker needs to post a new start.txt.

Nothing should be crashing. If you get a crash, explain it in detail and I can fix it. Include what version of Lackey you have, and what version of the plugin you have, and when you last updated your plugin, and the steps you take to get a crash.

nothing is crashing its just the start.txt file from the creator of this plugin issnt working anymore, so my question was is there anywhere where i can download a slightly older version of lackeyccg that would work with this start.txt file.

also another question some of the cards are double sided (quests cards) how do i maually add them or make it so i can see both sides of the card (if possible ofc)

You cannot downgrade. I suggest you ask the plugin maker to fix it.
You should be able to see the bad of a card by using the shift key.

The Plugin Maker has abandoned this project .... Also FFG says that unless the card is 6 months old you are not allowed to use card images with the rules text on it, or have the rules copied out into the text area of the application.. I respect that .. and also completely understand were they are coming from.

On a side note.. I have a private version of this game working very well that is updated to ALL the expansions including Ozgilliath as well as many of the custom scenarios that are available at BBG. I plan on re-releasing the core set, along with the custom expansions from BBG once I can figure out one last problem. Then I will according to FFGs wishes slowly release the other card sets as they become available to be legally released onto lackey.

As many people know this is a co-op game that can be played solo using one deck, but as it is co-op many players choose to run 2 decks for a solo game. This has the extra bonus of being able to test your deck ideas in a "real" co-op situation. At the moment I do this by running to copies of lackeyccg and connect them together like a game, but it is a real pain having to tab between applications... especially when with how this game works you need to control the encounter deck from one of the players. So I have added new game zones so you can load a 2nd deck and have a 2nd draw so you can solo using two decks.

If you would like me to publish my version let me know... but as I said I will comply to the wishes of FFG

@Trevor

The only real problem I have at the mo is that the decks will not load correctly.. as in LOAD TO ZONE works fine.. but load entire deck to me... I get "deck loaded" in the log.. but nothing appears in the game zones. Do I need to rebuild the decks or something, as they were made when there were less gamezones? Or is there a way to edit them.. I looked at the deck files they seam pretty strait forward.. not sure why this is happening.

If decks aren't loading properly, there is probably a mistake with your plugin. Talk to me on AIM and we can investigate if it is a bug or a mistake in the plugin.

Jynks,
It would be great to see your work on the Lackey plugin for LOTR - LCG. I've been looking forward to the additions of the expansion sets (ande fan-made scenarios) for quite some time. Thanks for your effort, and thanks also for holding with FFG's restrictions. As an owner of many FFG games (including all the LOTR - LCG products available), I support the company completely. Still, it's great to play this game with friends far away thanks to a great Lackey plugin.
Good luck going forward!

With the shared deck areas, is there a way to add to the right click list a transfer command? Add to top of encounter discard. When we switched the encounter deck to a shared zone, it no longer has the right click send option like "right click, send to player discard" - Hope that makes sense.

Is there a way to stop the deck editor from jumping back to the game screen after loading a deck?

Also, for some reason, often while setting up the encounter deck is somehow deleted? Any ideas?

thank. I am almost ready to release the first update. FFG has a rule about the cards being 6 months old, so lucky that means that the 1st adventure pack is legal shortly, then I'll just add the new ones each month. This is easy as my "personal" version of the plkugin is in fact even with the releases, so should be no problem to keep the update running for others.

I've had some help and done some modifications to the plug-in from when you first did it. I think it works a lot better now.

I didn't want people to navigate a bunch of sub menus because there is a better way.
There is a simple way to transfer cards: drag them to the zone (or corresponding zone tab) of the destination you want them. And there's a bunch of different ways to do that.

I'm not exactly sure what you want. There's over a hundred different permutations of ways to transfer cards. Be very specific with exactly what functionality you want done, and maybe I can have things work better.

Quote

No, but I will change it so loading to a specific zone (as opposed to the "Load entire deck to you
button) does not send you to the game screen. I try not to make little preference options to do every little thing people might want to choose. Very quickly that results in making the preference panels unusable with all the clutter.

QuoteAlso, for some reason, often while setting up the encounter deck is somehow deleted? Any ideas?
I have no idea what you did exactly, so I'm not sure if it is a bug. If it happens again, try to figure out exactly what causes it. Let me know and I'll fix it if its broken.

I'm not exactly sure what you want. There's over a hundred different permutations of ways to transfer cards. Be very specific with exactly what functionality you want done, and maybe I can have things work better.

Yea, fair enough. I am just using the DRAG option at the moment. Though there are card effects that draw from the top and the bottom of the encounter deck... here are some images to make it more clear...

------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------

(http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/7003574/img/7003574.jpg)

Ok, so this is a screen cap of the a "encounter card" on the table. The "encounter deck" and "encounter discard" are both "global" zones. As you know as you helped me with that. Though as you can see, there is no way though the right click menu to send these cards to the "encounter discard" zone. I know we can use the drag to side bar or to the tabs where your player hand is... Though, if you bear with me I "think" this problem magnifiys as you go into other features of lackeyCCG. I'm not really a programmer so I might be wrong.. anyway.. take a look at these other examples.

------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------

(http://www5.picturepush.com/photo/a/7003578/img/7003578.jpg)

Often you need to shuffle the entire discard pile back into the encounter deck. As you can see, as the right click thing doesn't have an option for that there is no easy way to do this. Also (as far as I know) there is no "select all" in a zone, it is very cumbersom to move 50 cards to the draw deck. You have to shrink the window so you can see the "end" of the card list then you can drag select

(http://www4.picturepush.com/photo/a/7003607/img/7003607.jpg)

Now yes, you can do this drag select thing, but as you can see, my monitor rez is very large (2560x1600, as you can see your forum cuts off the end of the image, so right click view image to see it full size) low rez screens have to make the card list so tiny that it is hard to even select the space as it can even get smaller than your mouse. So you need to select cards in sections, using shift+click or something... very slow.

------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------ ------------

(http://www3.picturepush.com/photo/a/7003581/img/7003581.jpg)

Also there are card functions that work on the "encounter deck" that do stuff like "look at top 3 cards, pick 1" etc etc keep them hidden to other players.. etc etc.. you know what I mean.

As you can see, the same "problem" is here, there is no way to "send back to 'encounter deck" or "encounter discard" and shuffle, or not shuffle, as the only options are the current player decks, also the random discard button doesn't work. Also, as you can see there is no "reveal to only 1 player. So even if I use that tick box, the other player will get a flash of teh cards on his screen (I think)

So this entire awesome feature is basically broken. In my test games we are just draging to a place off teh table were others are just trusted not to be looking. Though if this feature was working it would be fantastic!

Is there a way to stop the deck editor from jumping back to the game screen after loading a deck?
No, but I will change it so loading to a specific zone (as opposed to the "Load entire deck to you
button) does not send you to the game screen. I try not to make little preference options to do every little thing people might want to choose. Very quickly that results in making the preference panels unusable with all the clutter.

Yea, that is a fair enough point. Now I think about it, I think that is really cool to not clutter with tons of options. I didn't think of that and as you said the "load to zone" change will basically fix this annoyance anyway.

I have no idea what you did exactly, so I'm not sure if it is a bug. If it happens again, try to figure out exactly what causes it. Let me know and I'll fix it if its broken.

I'll try and get this to happen at will then i will record a video for you.

Ok, I will make the option to also send cards to shared zones. It's not that important though, seeing as how dragging them to the tabs is just as easy, if not more so. (To drop to the bottom of a tab, hold shift while moving the cards.)

I will also add the "Move All to" option for zone tabs.

I will also allow people to send revealed cards back to a shared zone.(As an interim hack, drag the cards to a zone only you can see, and then move them from there accordingly). btw, I thought lotr was a cooperative game. Does it actually matter of your teammates also see the cards?
And I will fix the random discard button.

The load to zone fix was implemented earlier this morning and is live. Let me know if it isn't working as you want.

You submitted a very good and specific bug report there. The shared deck stuff was a new feature, and I thought it might have some bugs, and you seemed to find many of them for me to fix. Those kinds of bug reports are very helpful.

The game has some wierd rules about what it terms "table talk". You are not allowed to discuss your cards in your hand, their effects or anything like that. You are only meant to cooperate on cards that are revealed on the table. The "idea" I think is that they are trying to preserve some of that Magic the gathering / call of cthulhu type "tricky" / "surprise" actions you get from your opponent. As well as force players to BOTH be good, rather than one player directing the entire game.

So what this means is that there are a number of card effects that require decision making to be done by a single player concealed from and with out any input from his partner upon the encounter deck. Also you own hand at all times is concealed just like a dueling game.

Also this same formula is going ot be used in the new FFG Star Wars game that I am sure to be playing as it is a co-op / solitaire game set in Star Wars and ONLY in the original trilogy!.. sorry went of topic.. what I mean is that these suggestions are likely to be used in other games not just LoTR.

Thanks, I am involved in a freeware game engine and know that there is a fine line between being sportive of the developer, giving constructive comments  etc etc, and just complaining and bitching like a street hooker. I am glad you understand where I am coming from. Even if you do none of these fixes your app will still rocks. I just get nervous in posting things like b4, as I do not want you to take it as if I am going "I deserve things! Make it do this! You suck for not doing it like this!" Know what I mean?

I'm doing some final touch ups to the plugin and trying to work out the updateurl thing as well as making low, medium, high versions. So I'll get back to you on that zone thing. I tried the update app in teh game dir, but for some reason it often downloads and then I can not run teh app! I get this error...

Yea, imo, this way for loading individual zones is better.

Hello there!

I have been working on a LackeyCCG plugin for Lord of the Rings the Living Card Game witch will allow players to play with other people across the internet. I mainly did this as there are so few people for me to play with locally :(

FFG is aware of LackeyCCG, Vassel, OCTGN and the others. I chose LackeyCCG as I prefer it. There rule of thumb is that any card released in these virtual table top environments must have been available in the real world for 6 months. This means that "A Hunt for Gollum" is now ready to be released as it is December, and I'll be adding a new AP each month as they get released.

DO NOT ASK ME FOR EARLY RELEASES OF CARDS I WILL NOT DO IT.

This plugin allows you to play SOLO, or play SOLO using 2 decks. It also allows you to play 2 Player, 3 Player, 4Player with other friends across the internet. And it also supports spectators.

Hope you like it.. Have fun!

INSTALLATION
Download LackeyCCG - http://www.lackeyccg.com
extract and run the exe
Go to preferences/plugins and select LoTRlcg from the list
Select your resolution you would like to use and click install
After that, click the "Download all missing Cards" button.
--------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- -
TUTORIAL
LackeyCCG is pretty self explanatory but I have made a tutorial series for anyone that might be having troubles

Part 1 = Installing and Setup
Part 2 = Usage
Part 3 = Deck Building

HUNT FOR GOLLUM PLAY THOUGH

I have also uploaded "a Hunt for Gollum" play though in lackey from deck building to end of a game so you can see it in action! I'll prob do one of these vids for each new AP that comes out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPgu0EDVQGI&list=PL532DB6DF489DA3BA&index=5&feature=plpp_video

You can find the deck list at http://www.cardgameDB.com
http://tinyurl.com/7ujdtwe
--------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- -

I'll most likely be maintaining this plugin for the foreseeable future. A big thank you to BOOTYLAKTIN for the original plugin witch I took over as well as to Trevor (lackeyCCG dev) and of course to FFG, for not only making a awesome game but also having an enlightened attitude to these virtual table top versions of their games. (of course IF they made there own computer game versions I wouldn't have to do this.. just saying)

<--NOTE
Everything in working 100% apart form being able to scry the encounter deck. You can see my work around in the video but I eventually the "look at" command and popup should work the same as they do on player decks. Still for now you will need to do it like this

I believe this to be a plugin crash, but I could be wrong. First of all thank you for publishing this plugin game! I own the game right now and I love playing with the real cards, but it is nice to be able to play a long game with a friend in long distance. However I ran into a bug. When I load the Passage through Mirkwood Encounter Deck in the deck builder. I then click the Quest tab to add the 4 Quests to the Quest shared deck. When I do that Lackey Crashes. I hope that was descriptive enough. I can load the encounter deck to the encounter shared deck, but if I try to do that with the quests lackey crashes. I have tried to load quests first and second and I get the same result. I believe there is a way around it, but it is just annoying I guess. Thanks again for the plugin.

I have been PM'd on other sites and YouTube about this a lot, so I thought it best to copy this reply into the 3 posts I have on the various forums....

Q1 - How come there is no RIGHT CLICK on CARD/SEND TO TOP OF ENCOUNTER DISCARD option?
Q2 - Dose the RIGHT CLICK on DECK TAB/REVEAL TOP X CARDS work correctly? It seams wired.

Short Answer
Q1 - No. There is no RIGHT CLICK on CARD/SEND TO TOP OF ENCOUNTER DISCARD, yet.

Q2- No. The "reveal" functions do not work on the encounter deck. Do not use it. BUT it works 100% for the player decks, so use this for "Gandalf's Search" or "Mountains of Mirkwood" or "Gildor Inglorion" or any card that scrys the PLAYER DECK. Eventually you will be able to use this function on the encounter deck but as yet it is NOT possible.

Long Answer
LackeyCCG is a constant work in progress, the addition of "shared zones" witch I am using for the encounter deck is relitivly new addition to lackey. So at this time there are some problems though they will be addressed eventually.

Q1 - The best way to handle the "encounter discard" is to open the encounter discard pile on the right hand column.  Then simply drag the discarded encounter cards to it. Remeber there are game functions that key off the discard decks ORDER. So it is important to drag to the correct place, this means the VERY TOP of the discard pile. This can be irksome as well due to the fact the it is very easy to drag to the wrong place as the position slider on the far left can sometimes not be pushed always to the top, so while it looks like you are dragging to the correct position you are in fact dragging to somewhere in the middle of the deck. So if you use this method, you need to make sure you drag to the TOP of the column, and also that the slider bar is hard pushed to the TOP.

(http://www3.picturepush.com/photo/a/7148316/220/7148316.jpg) (http://www3.picturepush.com/photo/a/7148316/img/7148316.jpg)

The other method, is more safe, but can be a bit annoying, as the "drag" target is small especially on high resolution monitors. Still, this is the safest method, if you drag the card you wish to discard to either of the ENCOUNTER DISCARD tabs, it will always place the card on the top of the encounter deck in the correct place.

(http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/7148314/220/7148314.jpg) (http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/7148314/img/7148314.jpg)

Q2 - The "RIGHT CLICK on DECK/REVEAL TOP X CARDS" function works 100% perfectly on the player decks.

At the moment though it dose NOT WORK on the encounter deck. Simply do not use it. Remember most card affects that allows you to scry the encounter deck, for example Hunt for Gollum quest effect or Denathor's ability are "private" effects due to the "no table talk" rule. The scry'n decisions are NOT group decisions.

So until the "RIGHT CLICK on DECK/REVEAL TOP X CARDS" function on the encounter deck can select individual players to only be able to see the cards, it is not usable and be legal to the rules of the game. For at the moment when using this function "everyone" can see the cards and there is no way to stop that.

On top of that, the popup window is unable to send cards to the correct discard pile, so that needs to be fixed as well, and I am sure it will be addressed when ever the LackeyCCG designer gets a chance. He is very busy and of course needs to consider many more games than just LoTRs when he is doing upgrades to LackeyCCG.

on the encounter deck is not working either. Witch is why in my game demo for HFG I scryed the encounter deck using the "drag" method. This is defiantly the most irksome bug in lackey for LoTR-LCG and needs to be addressed b4 I can claim this plugin is 100% conversion. Still this will be fixed in latter releases of LackeyCCG.

For now rule of thumb is SIMPLY DO NOT USE THIS FUNCTION ON THE ENCOUNTER DECK.

For an demo on how to scry the encounter deck.. click this link... for now this is the only way to do it legally according to the rules.

Using Denathor - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=MTOUXpyMxjc#t=536s
HFG Quest Effect - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=MTOUXpyMxjc#t=640s

I hope this helps!

Have fun

Ok, this is repeatable...

If you load a "encounter deck" .. these go to the "shared zones". In the deck editor, if you click on the encounter deck tab and use "load zone" button, everything is cool. But if you click on the QUEST tab and unlike the player deck, the "load to zone" button dose not auto select "quest" it stays on "encounter"... if you change this to quest to load into the correct zone... LackeyCCG will crash.

Work around..

Always load your encounter deck first using "Load entire Deck to you" then load your player deck and heroes using the "load to zone" as these buttons work 100% on player decks.

Hope that helps!

Here is how to make Lackey crash.  ;D Sounds like a good title for a book.

1. Open Lackey  :o
2. Load the LOTRlcg plugin
3. Click the Deck Editor tab
4. Browse for a premade deck.
5. Load the Passage Through Mirkwood Deck
6. While The Encounter Deck tab is chosen Load to Shared Deck: Encounter Deck
7. Click on the Deck Editor Tab again
8. Click the Quest Tab.
9. Load the Quest Tab to the Quest Shared Deck
10. Lackey Crashes YAY!!!  ;)

I found this would take less time than making a video. I hope this helps you Trevor joking aside.

Version 2.1.1 Is up!

Fixed: The Provided Hunt for Gollum Encounter deck to include the correct Encounter Cards

Fixed:  Dunedain Mark now displays as a Attachment, instead of a Event

Change: Changed the naming conventions for all Encounter Cards, so that now grouping by "sphere" in the deck editor will place all encounter cards in the same block for easy readability.

Added : Added 6 new Custom Quests made by NinjaDorg. Check them out in this thread at BBG - http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/66659/ninjadorgs-lotr-lcg-scenarios

I think everything is working, let me know if you find any more bugs!

Hey Thanks again for the plugin Jynks! I hope you take this in the way it is meant. I am trying to be helpful. I made a packdefinitions file for this plugin. I have only done the Core set. I like to use it for making real decks with my real cards. I don't plan on making this for every set, I just wanted to make it for the sets I actually own. As I do them I would be glad to post them, but if you would like to include this with your next update that would be awesome, i think. Right now I only own the core set so that is all I have done.

I hope this helps you.

It is for the opening packs feature of lackey. I am sorry I thought you knew what it was. It is explained thoroughly in the plugin creation tutorial. It allows the the plugin user to limit what cards he may use to make decks. For instance a person may not know how many "stand and fight" cards are in the core set. Opening the core set pack would show the amount of cards that are in the sets.

The .XML file can be viewed in notepad. It should be placed in the "packs" folder of your plugin. I have in the file written that the picture should be called "1". You can change that. But whatever you use, it needs to be a jpg in the packs folder of the same name that you wrote in the packdefinitions file.

Oh, you mean the function on lackey uses to handle boosters for drafting and stuff in magic? Yea I thought of adding them for completion sake but instead added a column in the deck edit called number or copies or something I forget and am at work right now. Anyway it is the last column before the card rule text. There you will see the default copies amount. Remeber all player cards apart from core are all 3 of each. So only encounter cards and cards from core really use this idea. Adding the column for copies in the deck editor seamed the best way as you can easily make custom encounter decks, just click on a encounter card and hit +1 for each copy listed in the editor.

P.S. Sorry for my English

There are 2 know bugs with the shared deck zones. This error is one of them. The other is the fact that the reveal X cards from encounter deck and the resulting windows pop up doesn't work. Trevor know about these and I am sure he will get to him when he gets time. If your impatient you should donate a few bucks (nothing crazy) and add a note you play LoTR-LCG.

For now the work around, as the player decks function correctly is to use LOAD ENTIRE DECK for the encounter deck and use LOAD TO ZONE for the player decks. This will not crash lackey.

As for scry'n the encounter deck, I draw the cards as shadow cards, then use the SHIFT+ MOUSEOVER to peak, then simply drag back onto the encounter deck tab. If the card goes on the bottom of the encounter deck it is more awkward, but all you have to do is switch to the encounter deck and drag the card to the far RIGHT

FIXED: - The Custom Hero "Erestor" now displays the correct card. (thanks to Sylvicolus for pointing this out)

Ok well that is it.. hope you like it.. this is one of the hardest quest in the game so far, especially when you have the limited card pool that is currently available in lackey.. please try to refrain from punching your computer monitor!

Please let me know if there are any problems.

NOTE: - LackeyCCG is having some extensive work done it at the application level by Trevor. I have been playing with the beta and I am happy to tell you that the "Reveal X cards" on the encounter deck button is 98% working and will most lily be released by the next AP! As well as a number of other small bugs with the encounter deck, like the log not displaying "shuffle" when someone shuffles the deck. The new lackey is not out yet.. but will be soon.

NOTE 2: - All 4 Versions of the plugin will now show in the Plugin Install area. The versions just control resolution and they are MAX, HIGH, MEDIUM and LOW. One of the buttons is slightly cut off, this is the MAX version.. you can still click the button though. (this is on the 2 fix list and will be done soon)

Hello,

Great plugin, I will be using that a lot !

I noted that (on version 2.2), in the encounter deck, the card have the back of the player deck. To fix it, you can add an encounter.jpg in the sets/setimages/general folder.
Well, I checked and it doesn't work anymore, I could have sworn it did, oh well...

I also want to thank you because your plugin is a very good example and it helped me understand the tutorial on how to make plugins.

Do we know, if the plugin includes all the expansions to date? Or a way to check how many cards should be in the deck?
I used zorbic's deck builder and some of the cards i selected there were not included in the LackeyCCG Deck.

Is there a link i need to install or update from URL?  To Get the rest of the Expansions.  Or have they just simply not been imported yet.

Thanks.. Great game.. Really enjoying it!  I love to play with real cards the best but this is great to link up with my brother 8 hrs away.

Thanks again.

um, the encounter cards should all have the correct back... when you press F6 to place them on the table.. but in the deck view they have the generic back.. at this time lackeyccg can not display the "correct" back in the deck zones tabs.. It is a minor annoyance and I think there is way more important fixes, though Trevor dose know about it and it is most likely on his list of things to do somewhere down the bottom.

UPDATE - Version 2.4So this is a big update. Including The Hills of Emyn Muil and The Massing at Osgiliath!! Also there have been some big changes a the application level of LackeyCCG from the developer as well....

Most notable is the inclusion of COUNTER IMAGES....

(http://www4.picturepush.com/photo/a/7729722/img/7729722.jpg)

So you add counters just as b4, but now it will add the counters form the real game, 1st counter will look like the Witch King card, and as you add more counters text will appear on top of the counter like this. This should mean that no matter the card art, the counters should always be easy to read!

If for any reason your counters are to small and the text is not on top of them (due to scale and monitor issues) there is an option in the PREFERENCES under the APPEARANCE tab where you can set the scale of the counters from 20% to something higher.

(http://www1.picturepush.com/photo/a/7729724/img/7729724.jpg)

Also for you solo players. You can now add as many players as you like to a solo game! Just right click on the TEST DUMMY player and select ADD SEAT and a new dummy will be added. This is great for deck testing if you are building a 2 or 3 player deck, or just want to play a 2 or 3 deck solo game.

(http://www3.picturepush.com/photo/a/7729741/img/7729741.jpg)

Once you are playing, just select yourself in the list (the top one) and use these arrow keys to access the other decks!!

(http://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/7729745/img/7729745.jpg)

Also there is a TON of cool /commands for the chat window... so many I can not list them all but some really awesome ones are

/chooseplayer (select a player at random to go first)
/senddeck S (This will send you current deck to the other player neat way of sharing decks if your playing with randoms)

I'm pretty busy nowdays so my videos might be slow.. but I will be doing an updated tutorial that should be way more simple and short and easy to reference with how to use the plugin...

Anyway.. hope you guys like it.. let me know as always if there are any problems!!!

Have fun and Stay Safe

Hey,

Great job again man, tokens look amazing !!

Noted a couple of thing to fix :
- Pictures of THOEM02 and THOEM03 are mixed up.
- Keen-eyed Took referenced as Tactics instead of Leadership.

Thanks, keep up the good work

UPDATE - Version 2.4.1== -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING

This update changed some fundamental organization of various things behind the scenes to do with function, this WILL effect your keybindings. So after this update, make sure you go into PREFRENCES/KEYBINDINGS and make sure everything is as you want it.

(http://www4.picturepush.com/photo/a/7737177/img/7737177.jpg)

Another way to get your bindings fixed easily is to to go into your LackeyCCG directory and finding this file....

<LackeyCCG Directory>plugins / LoTRlcg / pluginpreferences.txt

Then delete it. Now next time LackeyCCG loads it will use the default keybindings I set up for you.

== -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING == -- == WARNING

Ok, so what is becoming my regular 2nd update a day after the release of the main update due to all the errors people find it UP!!! Enjoy...

Big thanks to Bis2Fioute for pointing out that Descendant and Gildor card images were reversed.. so that is fixed...

Also Duke of Lizards (awesom-o name btw) asked:
"every time I play an attachment, it ends up covering up a hero. Then I select the hero, drag him around and put him back on top. This quickly becomes unwieldy with 4 or 5 attachments to order. Is there a faster way to handle this?"

And I responded:
um.. I'm not sure... I do not find it a problem in any way personally, in fact I like it like this as it is exactly how real cards work... Basically I just drag select the cards on the table and move them to the side and place the new card, then drag the stacks of stuff with the hero at the top and then place it again. There used to be options in lackey to set it so that placing a card will always go to the bottom, but these options seam to be gone. There is a option called HOVER I have not set up that I can add to the card functions that will make a card unselectable... but all cards will be placed on table go under it... this might be a option... I'll look into this for you.

So I looked into it and it worked pretty neat.. so I did it!!! WOOOT

So if you select a card and hit ALT+H (default binding) or right click on the card and select HOVER it will raise that card into the air, off the table. Now any card that is put on it, will go underneath. You can tap and add counters while it is hovering if you like so you can always have it hovering, or you can raise it up, then place your attachments then drop it on the table and it will land on top of everything.

Also, I added a new counter for "reminders" here are a 3 examples of how it is meant to be used.....

(http://www5.picturepush.com/photo/a/7737253/img/7737253.jpg)

As you can see it is just a nice bright generic counter you can use to track modified stats, like in this example Gimli has 3 wounds, so he is now hitting for 5. So this counter is just to remind us of that. The Hunter card has a "4" on it.. cause there is 1 Clue token in play, witch gives him +2 attack / Defense... again just to remind us. And on the Quest card, I use this counter to denote victory points....

Anyway... this is about it I think!!

Please let me know if there are any more errors!!

Have Fun and Stay Safe

Hey first off let me say i really appreciate all your work on this. I really enjoy playing the game but my friends who play live in another state so its hard to get together with them. I was wondering if there was a way to turn a card over. I know you can look at the other side with the shift key but I find it kinda annoying that i can't turn over the quest cards and have them stay on the correct side. I know that they have the functionality in lackey's magic the gathering plugin and i was wondering if i just didn't know the right keys for it in this.

Hold down CTRL+Left CLICK on card and it will flip it... Also not sure how you are doing shadow cards with out being able to flip them over .. lol.. so just in case.. there is a DRAW ENCOUNTER (F5) and DRAW SHADOW (F6) button as well.. So you draw the shadow cards, place them on the table then flip them using ctrl+left click to turn them over at teh correct time.

I've been using shift to just look at the other side of the shadow cards as well as the quests. However it's just a pain to keep looking at it to figure out what it is and to check wording on abilities.

but are you going to continue doing this awesome job for all of us? You will put the expansion packs and custom quests whenever you can right?
Also I'd like to ask if anyone would like to play with me- a noobie who is still trying to learn and beat the first quest? :)

A few comments. 1) I'd like to play with you since I don't have many people interested in playing IRL. PM a time and day that works well for you if you don't mind. 2) What custom quests are you referring to? 3) It shouldn't be hard for me to unofficially add the new cards into the proper places and load it up to the forums. Taking over the auto-updater might be a different story but not worried. We will see what the OP has to say.

1) I will for sure!
2) I played ninjadorg's quest and well, they're as good as the official ones. so I know that the expansion packs will be uploaded 6 months after their release but maybe we can have these 'good' or 'approved' custom quests as they're released
3) I just received the game and been playing with those. but I still think that playing on lackey is easier and more fun. so i will always be around looking for updates for this game and will try to support people when i have my salary :)

If you are having any problems, the easiest way to fix everything is to just to completely delete the "LoTRlcg" folder form inside your LackeyCCG/plugins/ folder and reinstall the plugin form the preferences list... (make sure you backup your decks)

A couple fixes I've noted :
- Gildor and Descendants pictures are mixed up again.
- Song of Mocking is Tactics, not Neutral.

Oh and can you implement the TOGGLETURNALLIMMUNITY card function please ?

For the rest so far so good, I'll let you know.

Version 3.0

ADDED:- Khazad-dum Big Box Expansion
ADDED - Feonix's custom scenario #4 - Raid on the River Carnen
FIXED - Song of Mocking is now in correct Tactics Sphere
FIXED - Counter Image Error some people were having
FIXED - Default Key Binding file is now working correctly

Please let me know if anything needs fixing!!

Hi guys!! Yes Khaz is a month early!! woot... but I will be busy so here it is now!! Have fun and go bash those orcs!!! This will be the last update for a while as there was a break in release over Christmas of LoTRlcg... The 1st Pack of Darrowdelf was released on March 2012 (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=3114)... So this means I'll be releasing that pack in September.. so in 3 months!! Do not worry I plan to do some cool stuff on this still as in I will be adding lost of Custom Quests!

-----------------

Speaking of Custom Quests, the guy that did "The Barrowdowns" arguably one of the best quest for LoTRs including the official ones has made a new quest and I have added it to LackeyCCG.

Read all about it here!! (http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/805266/feonixs-custom-scenario-4-raid-on-the-river-carn)

Again it is a fantastic quest and easy to print out.. in fact I might make a video on how to easily make a custom card pack wit hout a lot of pain. One of the cool things is this time he has made a entirly unique encounter deck (like Massing uses) so there is no problem with mixing encounter cards and them looking slightly different.

Anyway, that has been added to lackeyCCG anyway and i strongly suggest you check it out!

----------------

Also I have fixed some problems with the default keybindings ... they should now be all working ...

CRT+LEFT CLICK = Flip a Card
HOLD SHIFT + MOUSE OVER (Peak at the other side of the card without flipping it)

F1 = Refresh ALL
F2 = Draw Card

F3 = Next Phase
F4 = Last Phase

F5 = Draw Encounter Card
F6 = Draw Shadow Card

F7 = New Turn

ALT+Q / CRT+Q = Resource Token (Add / Remove)
ALT+W / CRT+W = Wound Token (Add / Remove)
ALT+E / CRT+E = Quest Token (Add / Remove)

ALT+A / CRT+A = Helper Card Counter 1 (Add / Remove)
ALT+S / CRT+S = Helper Card Counter 2 (Add / Remove)
ALT+D / CRT+D = Helper Card Counter 3 (Add / Remove)

ALT+Z / CRT+Z = Purple Generic Token (Add / Remove)
ALT+X / CRT+X = Orange Generic Token (Add / Remove)
ALT+C / CRT+C = Yellow Generic Token (Add / Remove)

ALT+V = Toggle Draw Mode ON / OFF
CRT+V = Clear Markings
ALT+R = Roll 6 sided Dice
ALT+F = Flip Coin

Useful Console Commands

Remember lackeyCCG has a huge list of consol commands to let you do awesome stuff... see the full list here! (http://www.lackeyccg.com/tutoriallogcommands.html) Though here are some real useful ones!

/save NameYouChoose (Save the current game, includes all decks)
/load NameYouChoose (Load a save game)
/senddeck # (This command will send you deck to the other player and download it directly to their deck folder, replace the # with their seat number.. so if their name is 3rd in the list it would be "/senddeck 3"

CHANGED -All Players now sit on same side of table (Should make it better for solo players running multiple decks)
CHANGED -Eagle Tokens used to Eagle player card backs
REMOVED - Progress, Wound and Quest Token from Token Area

Please let me know if anything needs fixing!!

Guys I know Vassel and OTGN2 have more current cards. The plug makers do this against the express wishes of FFG and are basically pirates and being illegal. My plugin conforms with the requirement to wait 6 months after the real cards are released b4 releasing the virtual cards.

I'm not going to release them faster.. please stop asking! You may use OTGN or Vassel if you have no moral problems with disregarding the wishes of the designers. month

Hi, just found LackeyCCG - looks great, and am really looking forward to playing LoTRLCG on here. Quick question though, I have downloaded everything, as far as I can see. But I cannot locate the Helper Token Card - This card exists as an image in the Token folder, it is in the CardDataFiles.txt, but it and the other 2 tokens do not appear in the Deck Editor - On there it states Total: 494 Shown: 491, so the three tokens are not visible??? how do I make them visible?

Thanks for your work on this - great job!

I'm not sure about this plugin, but tokens are usually available through the Tokens tab to the right of the table. If you can't see this tab, make sure the panel isn't collapsed.

ADDED: Redhorn Gate AP (1st of Darrowdelf)
ADDED: Aside Encounter Deck Zones
ADDED: Victory Pile Deck Zone
ADDED: Mulligan Sound
ADDED: Mulligan Button
ADDED: Save and Load Buttons
CHANGED: All encounter deck now have any "out of play" cards used in set up placed in the new ASIDE deck zone for quicker game starts!
FIXED: Sarn Gorwing Custom Quest Deck!

Please let me know if anything needs fixing!!

Ok... so I finally found time toi update this plugin.. only 18 days late!! wtf... do not worry I'll update it as soon as the new month starts so you will not be waiting as long for the next pack...

BIG NEWS!! Darrowdelf has started... so get on and start hitting the trail

Also, I have made some pretty major changes to the plugin. I Strongly recommend backing up your OWN decks and DELETING THE ENTIRE PLUGIN DIR AND INSTALLING FROM SCRATCH.

I have added 2 new deck zones... as there are more and more quests that require shuffling of the quest deck. So now you will see that there is a new button called "DRAW QUEST" this will draw a quest card form the top of the quest deck (LEFT). You can still play as always, but if you are playing say FLIGHT FROM MORIA, you can now put the quest cards in the quest deck zone and use the shuffle and other deck functions!

I have also added a new deck zone called "VICTORY" so you may drag your victory cards into this area now if you wish.

Also ALL the encounter decks have been changed. So i strongly recommend you deleting them all and re-downloading. This is because I have added yet another deck zone called "ASIDE". This deck zone contains all the Quest 1a setup cards. Like if the quest says "search the encounter deck for card and place in staging area" well that card is now already put aside for you in this aside deck zone. This should speed up quest setup as you will not need to fetch the cards yourself.

Also there is a new button in teh canned messages area called "!mulligan!" this will discard your starting hand and then draw 6 cards as well as announcing you are taking a mulligan, next to it is !draw 6! that will draw your starting hand.

Ok have fun!!!

-----------------

Also I have fixed some problems with the default keybindings ... they should now be all working ... if not del the plugin and fresh update!

CRT+LEFT CLICK = Flip a Card

Tragic has not logged in since October of 2012. It is safe to say as of right now this plug-in is dead. Unless someone is going to pick it up again.

OCTGN (sorry for the shameless plug but for LOTR fans, i have to do it) has updated decks.

Hey guys I am back!

Been overseas for ages. Anyway.. I am sad to say that I have stopped playing LoTR having moved on to Star Wars and A:Netrunner as well as Call of Cthulhu (I'll always play that).

I will still host the plugin and as soon as I get my computers out of storage and set up I will update the pulgin to the end of the current cycle that is currently only 1/2 released.

I am looking for someone to take over this plugin. The updating is not that involved and I can get you in touch with a good scanner who will keep you up to date with new cards. I can teach you how to update it and keep it uptodate easily.

If you can not wait there is a OCTGN3 plugin that is currently well maintained but it isn't as god as the lackey one for a number of reasons.. one of witch LackeyCCG has save function and crash recovery and can be played on most platforms and I have more custom quest and all sorts of little things.

Anyway.. sorry .. but that is life!

Version 5

ADDED: Darrowdelf 2: Road to Rivendale
ADDED: Darrowdelf 3: The Watcher in the Water
ADDED: Darrowdelf 4: The Long Dark
ADDED: Darrowdelf 5: Foundations of Stone
ADDED: Darrowdelf 6: Shadow and Flame
ADDED: Saga: The Hobbit: Over Hill and Under Hill
ADDED: Deluxe: Heirs of Numenor Expansion (Censored)

CHANGED
There is a pretty major change here.

I am now going to be releasing the entire set as uptodate with the official sets as possible, ignoring the 6 month wait.. BUT the cards in the 6 month period will have their card text blurred out. This way the plugin will comply with the wishes of the copywrite holders, FFG and people can simply replace the blurred cards with their own scans if they wish.

This should stop the fracturing of the user base, as many users were running custom versions of this plugin. Now you can just replace the blurred cards and connect with anyone.. no need to write a personalised plugin anymore!

Please let me know if anything needs fixing!!

As some of you may know it has been a long time between updates. I was away on holiday for ages, and then I quit this game in favour for other LCGs like Netrunner.

I am looking for someone to take over this plugin and maintain it.

The plugin itself is complete and I expect it not to need additional work. All anyone needs to do to update this plugin is look in the plugin dir and see the cardlist.txt file. This is a tab delimitered spreadsheet txt file. You can load it in excel or calc or any speadsheet app. Once you do you can clearly see the pattern of how to fill in new cards.

If anyone wishes to take over the plugin please let me know. PM me on YOUTUBE, BGG, FFG or CARDGAMEDB.

To those thinking of taking over.. there are TWO options.

1) You take over the entire plugin, including updating and hosting (hosting can be done easy through DropBox.. this is what I am using now). You will need to update the txt file, update the dropbox and update the scans. I can put you in touch with a scanner.

This is what I am hoping someone will step up and do.

2) The other option is to simply update the cardlist.txt file and email it to me. This is by far the most time consuming part of the update. The data entry. If someone will do this for me. I can host and handle the plugin updates, Until someone wishes to take on the entire show.

Anyway.. I will be updating the plugin now and then if no one comes around..

until then... . .

Have Fun and ROLL HIGH!!!

Hullo hullo-

Sorry if it's a silly question, but I cannot for the life of me find a link to this intriguing plugin's update list. As the plugin finder doesn't seem to be present in the most recent lackey build (?), I don't understand how I can get my hands on this exciting-looking game.

Can anyone enlighten the newbie?

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys.. long time n see. I am technically on holidays but as I am spending a lot of time on trains and planes and while I had all that time I have been updating the LoTR Plugin on my laptop and playing it a ton...Woot-a-loot-a-lot!

This is BETA... I'll be doing small tweaks as I play, as I travel. So let me know if there are any problems.. may take a little while to settle down. There is a lot of changes. Still everything is going well and it is now fully uptodate with the current release.. apart form the 3 new nightmares that I will add when I get some time. Remember the 6 month wait thing going on for cards that FFG ask for.. I'm still honouring their wishes in this matter.

For Detailed Install Instructions see the bottom of the Post... for the rest... here is the Plugin Link!.. just copy the link (right click copy url) and paste it into the LackeyCCG plugin installer.

YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETELY REMOVE THE OLD PLUGIN FOLDER AND REINSTALL
- This is nearly a full re-write of the plugin -

REMOVED COMPLETELY
CHANGES
ADDED
NO LONGER CENSORED
UNCENSORING SCHEDULED

KeyBoard Functions

You can set your own keyboard functions to anything you wish, by clicking PREFERENCES button and then clicking KEYBINDINGS. These are just what I use. Feel free to change ANY button but the F!! and the F12.. if you change these you will break some of the scripting functions. Remember you can always update form the url at any time to reset everything to defaults.

Keybindings in Lackey are pervasive across the application, so if you use "t" for take control, then every time you type "t" in the chat window it will trigger the hotkey. So I am using SHIFT+T and CTRL+T to turn On and Off tokens. There is a bug in LackeyCCG at the moment that makes windows systems beep if you use ALT+t.... so for now it is SHIFT+T.. but will go back to ALT once the bug is fixed.

CRT+LEFT CLICK = Flip a Card
HOLD SHIFT + MOUSE OVER (Peak at the other side of the card without flipping it)

F1 = Refresh ALL
F2 = Draw Card

] = Next Phase (auto save each advanced phase)
[ = Last Phase
F4 = Advance Turn

F3 = Draw Quest Card
F5 = Draw Encounter Card
F6 = Draw Shadow Card
F7 = Draw 2nd Encounter Card
F8 = Draw 2nd Shadow Card

F12 = Empty Hand - This moves the top card of your hand to the top of your draw deck. (do not change this keybinding!!)

SHIFT+T = Take Control of Card

SHIFT+Q / CRT+Q = Resource Token (Add / Remove)
SHIFT+W / CRT+W = Wound Token (Add / Remove)
SHIFT+E / CRT+E = Quest Token (Add / Remove)

SHIFT+A / CRT+A = Yellow Generic Token (Add / Remove)
SHIFT+S / CRT+S = Red Generic Token (Add / Remove)
SHIFT+D / CRT+D = Purple Generic Token (Add / Remove)

SHIFT+Z / CRT+Z = Blue Generic Token (Add / Remove)
SHIFT+X / CRT+X = Cross Generic Token (Add / Remove)
SHIFT+C / CRT+C = Green Generic Token (Add / Remove)

CTRL+1 = Toggle Draw Mode ON / OFF
CTRL+2 = Clear Drawn Markings

SHIFT+R = Roll 6 sided Dice
SHIFT+F = Flip Coin

For the record I change the hotkeys so they do not use the SHIFT modifiers, as I always use a voice communication and never use the chat window anyway.

There is are some helpful BUTTONS near the chat window.

SAVE - Save the current state of the game
LOAD - Load saved game

Lord of the Ring: The Card Game
- LackeyCCG Plugin Version 7 -
So LackeyCCG is finally out for iPad!! Woot-a-loot-a-lot. You can now use lackeyCCG to play on Mac,PC, Linux and iPad, iPhone vs any users on any of the other platforms!

Just a note, I do not own a iPad (android forever, *******!) So if you are having problems with the iPad version the place to ask is the LackeyCCG forums.

I have been meaning to update all my plugins so expect some updates to Star Wars LCG, Death Angel and Android Netrunner.

Also, DropBox should work fine now, there was a problem for a while, where the plugin wouldn't download, that should be fixed. Still, it is a good idea to run the plugin updater as soon as you have installed it as occasionally 1 or 2 files will error in the initial download.

For Detailed Install Instructions see the bottom of the Post... for the rest... here is the Plugin Link!.. just copy the link (right click copy url) and paste it into the LackeyCCG plugin installer.

So I got sent a image from the iPad version....

(http://s28.postimg.org/ybdn5i13d/image1.jpg) (http://s28.postimg.org/mz11npsej/image1.png)

As you can see there is a lot of room taken up with buttons, that are accessible from the right click menu on the cards, or the keybindings on computer.

Would you guys like me to remove a ton of those buttons.. all those +1 / -1  Token buttons?

you can shorten it to Y+1 instead of Yellow+1 and if a button isn't used often, you can just remove it from appearing below the table, in which case people could right click the card (or the table if it's a general function).

Also, indigo isn't spelled with an e.

Yeah, I was just wondering if the iPad users find it easier to right click on the card or use a button like it is. I think I'll do the shortening like you said first see hoe people react.

I've been using the iPad version for a little while and appreciate the buttons - they use up a lot of precious on screen real estate though - love the idea of abbreviating the buttons.

- LackeyCCG Plugin Version 7.1 -
So LackeyCCG is finally out for iPad!!

Lord of the Rings: The Card Game (LCG) - LackeyCCG Plugin Version 7 (http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9169569/LackeyCCG/LoTR-LCG/updatelist.txt)

IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS TRY COMPLETELY REMOVING THE OLD PLUGIN FOLDER AND REINSTALL IT

Fixed

- Travel Announcment Voice now says the correct phase
- Now each general token is 100% unique. (Changed 2nd green token to pink)

Changed

- Removed "Hover" Button. I do not think anyone uses it.
- All buttons have been abbreviated to Initials to save screen space for iPad versions. This may make the WIN/MAC/Linux version a little harder to use. Remember there are keybindsings.

If people want the "full buttons" back.. I'll make a new download URL for ipad and one for PC that has the full buttons.

Abbreviations

Top Button Bar

RA = Refersh All / Threat +1 / Draw 1 Card (F1)
D = Draw 1 Card (F2)
DE = Draw Encounter (F5)
DS = Draw Shadow (F6)
DQ = Draw Quest (F4)
DE2 = Draw from 2nd Encounter Deck (F7)
DS2 = Draw Shadow from 2nd Encounter Deck (F8)
TC = Take control of card (alt+t)

Tokens

R+ = Add Resource
R- = Subtract Resource

W+ = Add Wound
W- = Subtract Wound

T+ = Add Travel Token
T- = Subtract Travel Token

O+ = Add Orange Token
O- = Subtract Orange Token

R+ = Add Red Token
R- = Subtract Red Token

I+ = Add Indigo Token
I- = Subtract Indigo Token

Now there is so much room I could add buttons for the other three general tokens. I haven't yet as I want to get feedback form the iPad users as I do not have a iPad so I can not tell how much space has been freed up. For now you can access the tokens via the keyboard shortcuts or right clicking on the card.

Canned Button (lower bar)

T+ = Add Threat
T- = Subtract Threat
R = Refersh All / Threat +1 / Draw 1 Card (I know this is doubled up, forget about that!)
S1 = Save 1
L1 = Load 1
D6 = Draw 6
M = Mulligan
C = Choose Start Player
P5 = Peak 5 (Look at top 5 of your own deck)
P3 = Peak 3
P1 = Peak 1
S1 = Scry 1 (Look at top card of Encounter Deck 1)
S2 = Scry 2
S3 = Scry 3
S2 = Save 2
L2 = Load 2
S3 = Save 3
L3 = Load 3
S4 = Save 4
L4 = Load 4

F1 = Refresh ALL
F2 = Draw Card

] = Next Phase (auto save each advanced phase)
[ = Last Phase
F4 = Advance Turn

F3 = Draw Quest Card
F5 = Draw Encounter Card
F6 = Draw Shadow Card
F7 = Draw 2nd Encounter Card
F8 = Draw 2nd Shadow Card

DRAW 6 - Shuffle your deck, then draw 6 Cards, then announce in chat you are drawing your star hand
Mulligan - Announce a Mulligan, then discard hand, shuffle deck, draw 6 cards
Choose - Picks a random player as 1st player
Scry # - Peak at the top cards of encounter deck 1
Peak # - Peak at the top cards of your player deck

Refresh - This is hotkeyed for Mac and Pc users to F1 by default, but iPad users... use this button to refresh. It will also raise your threat +1 and draw a new card in a single action.

Useful Console Commands

Remember lackeyCCG has a huge list of console commands to let you do awesome stuff... see the full list at lackeyccg.com (http://www.lackeyccg.com/tutoriallogcommands.html)! Though here are some real useful ones!

Some Tips

You need to set up a player profile to play online.

In "MISC" and untick "Show ToolTips"
In "MISC" tick "Auto remove tokens"
In "MISC" you can set lackey to "one mouse button mode"

In PERFORMANCE set it to "HIGH"

In "APPEARANCE" untick "Make Card viewer image pop out" (if you like some like it ticked)
In "APPEARANCE" Adjust "Counter Size" to make the counters bigger or smaller on the cards

Created alternative definition of LOTR cards for the plugin ver 7. I wanted to quickly setup my hand from cards I own but didn't find "OR" option in the LackeyCCG filters. Finding all cards from Mirkwood cycle is really hard with all those cryptic Set shortcuts.

The definition file contains new column 'Expansion' which can be used to search all cards from specific cycle or expansion box. There are no shortcuts in this field so you can use expansion name directly in the filter.

I know about the external Deck building program from your superb youtube video. But I'm using Linux and tried to run it with wine and it was quite unstable. Fortunately the LackeyCCG runs OK. And.. I want to thank you for the LOTR module and the video - great work.

finally found a guy to take over this plugin. Expect a major update to bring this plugin back, and the possibility of regular updates as well as a PC pad and phone versions.

UPDATE

Finally found what I think could be a replacement host for DropBox... 5GBfree.com.

I have uploaded the lackeyCCG Plugin to this server as well as incorporated some slight changes.

? ADDED : Cycle 04
[c]  [/c]? Voice of Isengard (Delux)
[c]  [/c]? The Ring Maker Cycle

? CHANGED : New Keybindings
? CHANGED : Removed the Truncated Button Names

Apart from that it is pretty much the same as it ever was.

How to install?

? Install LackeyCCG - http://www.lackeyccg.com/downloads.html
? Open the applicatio and click the button at the top (send from teh far right) called "PLUGIN"
? Copy this link to your clipboard - http://theblathering.5gbfree.com/LoTR-LCG/_Desktop/updatelist.txt
? Press the button in Lackey "Paste AutoUpdate URL".
? Then click "Install Update"

That is it! All done.

If the plugin says "errors in downloading"... just click the install button again. Sometimes Lackey fails to downlaod things for some reason. The links should all work.. so click it again and you should be good.

? Once you installed the plugin.. on that same screen click "Browse installed Plugins to Load One"
? Select - LoTRLCG
? Click - Choose

have fun!![/q]

I'm going to use this as a test... if it works out then I'll move my other plugins there...
? http://theblathering.5gbfree.com/

NOTE

I do not really play this game much anymore. This plugin will probably not get another update.. unless I get help from another. The truth is that I have moved most of my play into TableTop Simulator. There is also OCTGN.

The big plus of LackeyCCG over OCTGN was that it was that it also had iOS support.

If you wish to help

If you wish to help with this plugin then PM me on this forum and speak up.. all I really need is someone to enter the data into the cardtext file, as I hate doing that. I can then produce all the cards needs and get the plugin updated on the server.

Ok.. I think I have found a solution to this problem....

I am now hosting on GITHUB.... . I think this will work fine.. but there is a bandwidth limit.. so if you have errors.. just wait and try again in a few hours or the next day or something.

I do not think it will ever be an issue as there are so few people who will use this plugin.

The new UPDATE url is :

I found github super confusing as it is a complex site designed for subversion control and group access of programming projects... so let me know if there are any issues!

Thanks for your amazing work on this plugin and to FF for creating this fantastic game.

It's sad that the LackeyCCG community is mostly dead, as sadly none noticed the link was to the Call of Cthulhu game, so in case there's still someone interested in the LoTR card game plugin, the actual update link is

Just wanted to mention here that I've been moderating the AHLCG plugin and have had success with Dropbox. Not sure if it's necessary but I've done two things which I believe have led to my success. Firstly, any and all Dropbox links should have the "www.dropbox.com" portions of the link replaced with "dl.dropboxusercontent.com" and the "?dl=1" at the end of the link should be deleted entirely leaving a link that ends in .txt (or .jpg or whatever the file type is). And secondly, and more frustratingly, I've taken the time to link every single image individually in the updatelist.txt. Linking to the entire folders wasn't working properly. It's a pain in the ass to have to go in and link every single image but it gets the job done. I had the luxury of a much smaller card pool when I started, too. Anyway, I hope this helps if you ever wanna switch back to Dropbox.

You should probably move all of the image stuff to CardImageURL files. It will make compiling your updatelist much easier and allow LackeyCCG to download images in the background as needed.

I think that's a great idea. I'll have to do that while the card pool is still relatively small!
