Alright I wanted to make this post for three reasons. My first reason is to help inform people that I?m updating the old Duel Masters plugin. The second reason is to give some previews of the newest cards. The final reason is to discuss Duel Masters strategy and get people interested in the game.

First off I?ll explain the new types of cards called Cross Gears. Think of them as weapons for your creatures to use. They never leave the battle field (unless destroyed by a card effect) and you can ?cross? or equip them to a creature on your battle field by playing the cost of the cross gear again after it has been played. You can also switch the card ?crossed? to the cross gear to another creature on your battle field by paying the cards cost again.

I wanted to start by showing off the new cards for the fire civilization in the Generation Gear set. Let?s talk about the new key card for fire players, Bolberg Cross Dragon. It costs 8 mana and has 7000 power. It?s a speed attacker and a double breaker. The best effect is that you can cross your cross gears with this guy for no cost. He?s a very useful card if you are running a control deck as it makes for a great late game finisher.

The fire civs most powerful cross gear is Final Dragarmor. It makes the creature a power attacker +5000 and they can break 1 more shield. The creature also becomes an armored dragon which is the first time I?ve seen a card that changes race (but I could be wrong). All for the low cost of 3 mana, this is a must in any fire deck especially if you are running a beatdown.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Dragarmor

An interesting new card is Metal Cook, the Exploding Flame Chef. He?s a creature that costs 4 mana and has 3000 power. But his effect is what?s interesting. All creatures in the battle zone can attack untapped multicolor creatures. While this card is useful as multicolor become more common, it isn?t very useful right now.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Metal_Cook,_the_Exploding_Flame_Chef

If you?re running a fire beatdown deck, be sure to add Nomad Warrior El Gigio to your deck. He costs only 2 mana and has a power of 4000. The cost is that when he?s destroyed you have to get rid of 1 mana. You will dominate the early game by comboing this with some of the other cards on this list.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Nomad_Warrior_El_Gigio

If you are having trouble fighting blockers, try using Hell?s Scrapper. It?s a shield trigger that destroys any number of creatures with 5000 power or less. Downside is it costs 7 mana. While not practically useful in beatdown, it can be welcomed for controlled or combo deck that need to clear the field for a final push.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Hell%27s_Scrapper

Zyler's Lighter is a must in all fire beatdown decks. If all you mana are fire cards, he gains +1000 power and speed attacker. He costs 3 mana though so use him wisely and he only has 2000 power without his power boost.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Zyler%27s_Lighter

If you are like me and you like Fire Birds, add Chitta Peloru to your deck. All your dragons can attack untapped creatures. Problem is keeping him on the field when he only has 1000 power.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Chitta_Peloru

When the new set comes out you must add Drill Bowgun to your deck immediately. It is a spell that costs 4 mana. It destroys a cross gear and if the creature that was crossed has only 2000 power or less it?s destroyed. This is probably the best new card in the set. It's powerful in beatdown and combo decks.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Drill_Bowgun

If you run a dragon deck, add Protective Soldier Blanka to your deck. He is a saver and can protect your armored dragon. When an armored dragon would be destroyed, you can destroy this card instead. All for the low, low cost of 2 mana. Combo decks will probably get the most use out of this card.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Protective_Soldier_Blanka

This is the best spell for all you beatdown players in the game. Twin Turbo gives one creature power attacker +3000 and speed attacker. Very useful for only 2 mana.
http://duelmasters.wikia.com/wiki/Twin_Turbo

And finally, my personal favorite new fire card, Crash Lizard. When this card wins a battle your opponent must get rid of a mana. He costs 4 mana and has a power of 3000. This is the card that must be given all your cross gears quickly. He can become a powerhouse during end game when your opponent is struggling for mana. This is the perfect combo card due to it's uses in late game if you can keep him on the field.

And that?s all I got. If you want to share your own Duel Master strategies feel free to do so. If you want to download the new sets go to the link below and follow the instructions. I hope this has been enlightening. I will try to do more of these in the future. It was fun. Leave a reply with your most anticipated card too!

The new set, Secret of Hidden Gear (engrish!), is going to be released as soon as possible. It is going to be focused on cross gears again and giving them new abilities and stuff. I?m not gonna reveal any new abilities but I will say that light control players are going to be really happy with this set. This set is going to introduce new light civ cards that focus on enhanced control and survivability of your creatures and cross gears. The best new thing is a balls to the wall powerhouse card that will be a must in all light decks.

If you have some good mana management then this card will be in your deck. Alphadios, Lord of Spirits is a light evolution creature that costs 10 mana and has a power of 15500. You must evolve it from an angel command and it?s a triple breaker. The best part is that players can?t summon creatures or cast spells unless they are light creatures and spells. This can utterly cripple your opponent if you play it right in a control or combo deck. Look forward to that light players.

Alright! The new set of Duel Masters, Secret of Hidden Gear (ENGRISH! DO YOU SPEAK IT!) will be posted tomorrow. I'll provide the link below. I wanted to discuss how this set will change your game.

For light players, this will be a mostly forgotten set. Besides my above post, there aren't very many useful cards of note.

Nature players will have a few more new cards to add into your decks. If you have a mana control deck, you will have a few more cards that will help with that. There are also some good aggro cards if you run an nature beatdown deck.

I'm most excited for the water cards in this set. I really like the new race, Spash Queens and they seem to have some really nice effects for all water control decks. There are a lot more cards for controls but not much else.

Fire, like light, doesn't have many useful cards. While there are plenty of good aggro cards, there's nothing that is a real game changer.

Finally, Darkness civilization. I really don't see anything useful here. There are some control cards but like fire, no cards stand out as anything that will change the meta of the game forever. Oh well. And that's what to expect in the new set. Anyone have any plans for their deck after this set is released?

The Aggro or how I learned to stop worrying and love speed attackers

For those that don't know, an aggro deck is basically a "kewl" way of classifying decks that attempt to kill the opponent as fast as possible. In Duel Masters that role is mostly left for the fire civilization. Speed Attackers are basically built for the aggro deck due to their fast playability. This is a handy dandy helpful hints guide for making an aggro deck and what to expect.

First off you need to understand that aggro means using cards with low cost. I recommend you only use cards with a cost of 4 or less.

In a game, your biggest obstacle is going to be blockers. What you want to do first is gather up some good spells that will clear out to blockers for you in a quick situation. You can also go a different route by using darkness slayer cards which are cheap and expendable to clear out blockers. This can be a risky way to go but it's not a bad thing to try. Darkness cards can also provide good blockers for cheap that will slay anyone trying to get at your shields.

The next important thing to find are a couple good creatures that will be your main fighting force. You will usually try to find creatures with high power and lost cost. Speed attackers are also very important. Find some good speed attackers without many negative effects.

Finally, mana can get pretty scarce in the heat of battle. Dip into the nature civilization to grab some cards that will provide mana when you really need it.

There. That is the basics of building an aggro deck. And make sure to note that this is not the end all be all of aggro builds and there are plenty of different aggro decks out there. Try experimenting with different formulas and see what you get.

I don?t think that this set, The Over-Technocross, is going to be the most popular one in Duel Masters history. Don?t get me wrong though, there are actually a bunch of good cards in this set and some I?m probably going to use in my own deck. What is good is that multi-civilization cards are back, however they are just used for the Cross Gears. Finally, the new ability Strike Back is really awesome. When your shield is broken you can discard it and play a Strike Back card from your hand without paying the cost, but only if the shield is the same civ as the Strike Back card.

Okay, I get what they were doing with Cross Gears and in the most part it was a good idea, I?m just not impressed by them. They really are strong in the late game, but they can also be strong at any point and I bet I will like them more if I use them in my deck. But for now it?s just kind of a disappointment. Now on to the set.

The water civilization is quickly becoming my favorite civilization. I think their creature designs are a combination of adorable and monstrous, which brings a nice spice of variety compared to some other civilizations. This civilization brings about more powerful control cards for making sure your hand is equipped to take on any threat. Like I said before, the race Splash Queens are becoming my favorite race due to their designs and their effects which are quite varied and powerful is used correctly. The problem is that this civ really has some issues with Blockers in that they are incredibly hampered by the fact they cannot attack. It?s frustrating.

The darkness civilization has had a terrible run in this set block. This set is no different unfortunately. There is a running theme in this set where darkness cards cannot be destroyed by spells which is a good effect, if you are fighting another darkness deck. The only real standout cards in this civ are the Spells which are actually really useful. Finally, the worst card I have ever seen is in this set. A Darkness creature that increases the mana cost of all Darkness to summon. Gargoyles are a terrible race.

I can?t say much about the Nature civilization because most of their cards are pretty good. There are some great mana manipulation cards in this set and I recommend reworking your Nature deck just for the cards in this set.

The Fire civilization is becoming the set that is directly opposed to the cross gears as there a bunch of cards that exist to destroy cross gears. However, this set doesn?t have many useful cards as many of this civs creatures and spells cost way too much. I would skip this set for your fire civ cards unless you have a friend that loves Cross Gears.

I am getting tired of the Light civilization getting some of the best cards. There is a card in this set that lets you put a Cross Gear into your Shield Zone. In late game, that can snag you the win easily. There are some really great combo cards in this set and any Light civ player will be happy as a clam. Finally there is a theme of shield manipulation which actually looks like a viable play style now that it has more support.

Finally, the multi-civ cards. They are all Cross Gears and they are all really powerful. That?s all.

I hope you enjoyed this, I know I did.
