Okay, so maybe not afraid, but... I am currently addicted to the tv show and starting to read the book series, and I'm worried the cards will give away plot points and take away from the experience of the books! Can anyone who plays the game let me know if that's the case?

Cards are constructed that they not give you clear information about events. However if you read book you can connect some cards with events and it can spoil further story in some way.

So, they try not to reveal plot but sometimes this not work. You play it at your own risk.  ;)

Haha thanks for the reply. I bought the core set this weekend! I didn't realize how many damn expansions there already were! Any recommendations for which ones I should hunt down first?

Windsower

All depends which family you want to play.

There is one expansion for each faction which contain cards only for that family (they are 165 to 180 cards expansions)

Kings of the sea- Greyjoy

Lords of winter -Stark

Kings of the Storm -Baratheon

Queen of Dragon -Targaryen

Princess of the Sun -Martell

Lions of the Rock - Lannister

Other expansions (40 cards each) mix cards for all families.

You can easly look at cards each expansion contains through Lackey plugin or Dabbler site fo GoT

Thanks for the info!
Are most "good" decks just one house, not bothering to mix from other factions? I could see that being the case, but I still feel like I'll eventually end up with all the expansions lol
