CCG Design Forum / Re: draw deck as win condition?

not quite sure what you're asking. If you mean winning by forcing your opponent to run out of cards, yes it has...many times over. If what you're suggesting is you winning by running out of cards, I dont think that would work with any existing game.

I would suggest hamachi for LaN games.

Hamachi is a great application but I disagree in its usage here. There's no need for Hamachi and considering the technical aptitude of your average user, it only further complicates the situation.

As to the OP, Tokimo is right. You need to make sure the appropriate ports are forwarded on your firewall. Consult your individual firewall/internet security documentation to see how to do that.

Except you'd eliminate the primary purpose of blue, and that is to counter. I think you'd be better off offering a wider choice of control/counter and then letting the players decide what is "casual" to them. Some wont like it, of course...as is obvious by this thread :) But restricted a way of play simply because you dont like it isnt a good way to go about designing a game.

Again though (for me at least) it would depend if I was playing casual or tournement. If I'am in a tournement and loading down my deck with counters will help me win, I'll do it in a heartbeat. For casual games however I tend to stick to the moderation guideline.

This might be a topic that needs to be directed back to the subject of the Sailor Moon CCG.

And are they updated? As I've explained in other threads, some of the plugins by default are outdated. You need to first update your plugin list (button on the plugin preferences page) from http://lackeyccg.com/pluginfinder.txt

Then update the plugin itself. If after that you still are having trouble, post on the forum which plugin or plugins in particular and we can try to go from there.

I'am not quite sure what a modal is.

all the cgo links are no longer valid. You should update your pluginfinder 'Update Plugin List from URL:' http://lackeyccg.com/pluginfinder.txt, if you still cant find the plugin you want (or it is still a cgo or other broken link) then check the plugin list thread here on the forum. If you still cant find it at that point, ask about the plugin in particular and someone might know where ya can get it.

I could be wrong but I think Trevor handles that plugin.

the problem with Counterspell is that is can counter almost all spells. This means the player holding the counterspell can wait the perfect moment to twart your plans.

That is the purpose of the counterspells and other instants (and their versions that were once known as interrupts). If you can only do stuff during your turn, which includes countering spells and destroying enchantments and the like, then you might as well be playing a single player game.

Do you mean that you have cards you want only available in packs? Not sure if that's possible in Lackey at present. Free build is what it is, building with all the cards available in the plugin.

Also what version (build date) of Lackey are you using?

Skye has the right of it. To me, it makes it alot easier to plan out potential combos and strategies in a deck I'am building if I can lay them out on a table in whatever order/shape/fashion I choose.

I like #2 better than #3 as well, but I still feel that your bottom text box is about half to three quarters of the size it should be.

What I'am picturing is something along these lines:
1: User launches Lackey
2: Lackey checks if there is a new version of Lackey (which I believe it does, though I could be wrong)
3: Lackey can query the plugins that the user has, to see if any of them have been updated and if so, offer the choice to update.

Or alternatively there could be a 'query plugins' button added, that would do much like step 3.
