Title: 7th sea plugin
Post by: txitxo on June 25, 2010, 08:28:27 AM
Hi everyone.

I found a 7th sea plugin for lackeyCCG but it is very incomplete. I am willing to finish the plugin but I haven't got any access to scans other than the ones already implemented. Can anyone send me scans of the cards or point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

Hi Bud,

Found a torrent which has more images then the existing 7th sea plugin (v.03). There is a discussion about it in these forums :
http://www.lackeyccg.com/forum/index.php?topic=495.0 (http://www.lackeyccg.com/forum/index.php?topic=495.0)

Myself and my fianc?e regularly use Lackey to try a game before we start collecting so looking forward to any progress you make.

Anyone working on this still? Myself and several friends believe without a doubt 7th Sea was the most strategic and rewarding CCG ever. I'd love to see the plugin completed. I have a huge amount of cards and wouldn't mind doing the scans for what I have if I could get with someone that was actually willing to work on this. Hit me up if you are.

I just started working on this, and have so far input the available images for Broadsides, Strange Vistas and Shifting Tides into a plugin. No other info than name and set on them yet, though.

I'd be interested in working on this further. I have a fair share of Fate's Debt and Horizon's Edge cards so I could scan them, but am missing on the other expansions totally.

EDIT: I started adding in the info for the cards in Broadsides, Strange Vistas and Shifting Tides.

EDIT: New post later containing updated version.

A status update, I managed to import the card spoiler lists at toysmakeuspowerful.com into the plugin database, so all the cards in Broadsides, Strange Vistas and Shifting Tides have their full stats. A zipped plugin available here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DM5N7ZPJ

Once I figured out how to do it, it was surprisingly easy so if people want to go through the much larger effort of scanning the images, I can help on the data input front (I can of course help by scanning those cards I have in Horizon's Edge and Fate's Debt expansions). As a hint, when scanning the cards, don't bother resizing each manually. First scan them all, then use a batch processor (either the one already in Photoshop, or this additional plugin for GIMP (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~hodsond/dbp.html (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~hodsond/dbp.html))).

The plugin could definitely use some work in the layout and function areas, I'm very new to LackeyCCG so didn't yet mess with them too much. Just removed the things I thought were superfluous after copy-pasting the war3000 folder. Feel free to give feedback, or modify and post links to your own layout files.

EDIT: Just realized all the Black Sails card images were available, so I added the expansion into the plugin. Available here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7NVOQJYH

Thanks to Magister for scanning a hefty stack of cards, the plugin has progressed nicely.
Now containing complete Broadsides, Strange Vistas, Shifting Tides, Black Sails, Horizon's Edge. Also contains (but with cards still missing) Scarlet Seas, Fate's Debt and Reaper's Fee.

Complete plugin: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DXX66ZXU (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DXX66ZXU)
Update if you had the Broadsides, Strange Vistas, Shifting Tides and Black Sails version: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YN5BMXEE (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YN5BMXEE)

Thanks a lot to Magister for helping. Updated list of cards still missing in the previous post, please join in on the effort if you can.

Awesome job joeru! 7th Sea is perhaps the best CCG of all time and we finally have a good plugin for it. Btw, anybody looking to learn this game or just play a game hit me up.

There are some errors in the plugin (e.g. missing cards in rulesets deemed complete, wrong images, typos), so if you use the plugin please report them (as a private message, or somesuch). I've become enured to my mistakes from sorting through the database file.

Thank you.

Hello Joeru,

I am comming slightly late (although you have been very fast working on the plugin).
I've started extracting some data from tradecardsonline a few years ago in preparation of working on a 7th sea plugin, and I still have a quite complete list of cards in various format, with a few scans.

Let me know if that may be of any help.

Hi, I've been working on Joeru's awesome plugin for a few days. I have added the Parting Shot set into the plugin and have resolved the file association issue where Experienced and non-Experienced cards with the same name were being treated by the deck builder as the same card. I will be working at adding cards to this as much as i can but sadly card availability is really low so this may take a while. If anyone has the possibility to send scans of the more recent sets to me, I WOULD BE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL.

On the other hand, any players not feeling like they're getting enough games in(and i know you are out there) can contact me.

Anyone still have these files? I want to play this game and I am willing to host the files, if a host is needed.

I'm also interested in expanding the 7th Sea plugin for Lackey. However, I haven't been able to find a previous version at all. Before I start from scratch, does anyone have a copy of the plugin they would share?

Services like Dropbox and Google Drive allow you to upload large files, which you can then share via links with other people. Both of the ones mentioned are free to register for and give an ample amount of space to host the average plugin.

So, did anyone ever get ahold of this again? If so, I'd love a copy myself; I've been trying to find scans of all the cards for ages and the OCTGN ones are pretty small.

Unfortunately, no, not yet.

I started looking into what it would take to use the OCTGN plugin's images and metadata in a new Lackey plugin.

You could make it a zipfile and put it on Mega or 4shared

If you can get it to me by any method I'm happy to host it. I already host a few.
Zipfile > Google drive (or the others mentioned) seems fine.

Hey Nick,

You may want to look into hosting your own on OpenShift (https://www.openshift.com/). The free tier comes with unlimited bandwidth and more than enough storage/cpu for hosting plugins. I have been using OpenShift to host the Redemption CCG plugin for the past couple of years without issue.

Hit me up if you need more information or assistance.
