Title: Players to Avoid
Post by: Dedealus on May 27, 2010, 05:51:09 AM
This may be an irrelevant undertaking given the ease of changing user names, but recently I've been encountering more and more hostile players on Lackey and I think there needs to be a place to warn others about them.

I play Magic on Lackey for fun; when I log on, I expect to experience, at the very least, a friendly if non-interactive virtual card game. Instead, I have been encountering insults, impatience, and occasional racism and bigotry. These are not isolated events. In the past few weeks, I have had the displeasure of trying to play with a dozen or so extremely unpleasant players. These players continue to act the same way over multiple games even when I don't engage them.

Playing with strangers online offers the unique chance to experience such unaccountable disrespect, but in a community as small and focused as LackyCCG, I think we can strive to achieve a much more tolerant environment if we call out the perpetrators and teach them that occasionally, there are repercussions on the internet.

So I would greatly appreciate it if people could post any users that caused extremely negative experiences in this thread. If anyone objects to this method of blacklisting, I completely understand and will not object to the closing of this thread. For this reason I will refrain from listing the names I believe should be avoided until there is consensus on this mode of punishment.

I completely believe this idea. I've only had the displeasure of dealing with Torn.

While this is a big problem, a blacklist isn't the solution.
