Interesting concept however i would refrain from using copyright chars if you planning to make this into a full fledge game. The best way to go about it is to make up chars that is similar to the character you are referencing.
A question I have is how WOULD my game be full fledged? All I can think is just continuation with the project.
Depending on the answer will depend if this project needs to be cancelled.
They to making something is to be passionate about it.
Find a theme and a story that works for you and just run with it.
Copyrighted stuff is great for getting a feel for style and then when you are ready make that leap to make something even more awesome!
