Title: Anti-virus reports trojan on lackeyccg.com
Post by: OniNoOdori on September 19, 2016, 09:54:22 AM
Hi all,

I've been using lackey for a few years now, but never felt the need to post on these forums... until now. It appears that since some weeks my anti-virus software (avira Avast) blocks access to the lackey website and all related sub-sites. The supposed culprit is called HTML:RedirME-inf [Trj]
I would assume that this is a false alarm? Has anyone else using avira experienced a similar issue? To be honest, I am a bit hesitant to whitelist the lackey website untill I can be quite sure that there is no risk of harm to my PC. No problems running lackey itself. I am currently writing from my I-Pad.

Your help will be appreciated.
Best,
Oni

I'm leaning towards a false positive. Zone Alarm and Spybot turn up nothing. More to the point, the pages there are just pretty straight forward simple html. The only java is a simple script to light up the options as you mouse over them.

Alright, thank you :)

I will try reporting this to Avira Avast, and hopefully they will whitelist the site.

On another note, I ran into a similar warning while accessing the game feed in a little program called OCTGN. At least one of the plugins seems to be hosted on the lackeyccg.com servers. I was kind of surprised by this, and that's what got me checking the lackey website in the first place.

UPDATE: Apparently, I mixed up some names. My anti-virus program is called Avast, not Avira.
