Ive tried reinstalling several times, but every time when i try to connect to server it asks me to update but when i click update i get a popup saying "Download failed - Error=0x800C008 The download of the specified resource has failed"

you are using the updater.exe? See if the zipped version from the downloads section works. If it launches, take your old plugins folder from your old lackey and put it in the new lackey folder.
