Title: Hosted Game on a Mac Computer-to-Computer network
Post by: Gailid on November 06, 2013, 03:41:50 PM
Anyone know if it's possible to configure the Mac Network settings to allow for a hosted WAN game over a Computer-to-Computer network?

To be clear, Mac OS can operate like a WiFI router, passing internet access from Ethernet and broadcasting it out to other computers. However, if there isn't any internet (like on an Train), I can generate a local network for things like file sharing.

While traveling with friends in the Car or on a train, I'd like to be able to create one of these Local Networks (with no internet), and host a Game for to play. However, i've been unsuccessful at getting it to work.

If you are on the same LAN, you should be able to enter in the LAN IP of the host. You would not be connecting to the server, but just the direct connect option on the main menu.
