Title: Sailor Moon CCG:
Post by: Tokimo on November 09, 2009, 11:41:22 AM
EDIT2: Core set only version (that works) available from http://johnuckele.com/SailorMoon/updatelist.txt (go into Lackey and in the plugin finding screen it's the text field near the bottom that you put this into).

EDIT: Core set only version (that works at least) available in zip form. http://www.johnuckele.com/SailorMoon.zip (http://www.johnuckele.com/SailorMoon.zip) I'm still working on getting it to update from a URL and getting all the P&F cards in.

I assume there isn't a plugin for this that anyone knows about?

If not I'll probably make one in the next few weeks.

I know someone has done some work on this set as I have the plugin. I'm not sure how complete it is.

Any place you could upload a copy of it?

I can compress it to just over 10 meg I'm not sure where I can place it where you can access? compressed as a rar file.

If you can E-Mail it or make a bit torrent of it, both of those would work. There might be file sharing sites that allow 10 meg files, not sure.

As in 10 Megabytes? Um.... any filesharing site will host something that small.

This one looks promising. Not sure if anyone's had experience with anything else.

AWESOME thank you so much! now... what about set two? I have scans of them, but the programing thing is like... ultra complex to me... anyone who could help me / do this with the scans/// etc would be awesome - thanks for any/all input.... and perhaps someone could make a plug in with the scans ...??
also if anyone wants to play let me know!

I have a full set of scans for P&F, I just need to get around to putting them into the game. I'm going to upload my improved version this weekend.

awesome.
i also play mapplestory tcg.

i'd like to see magi nation added  - but the game neads to be able to generate dice for that to have any hope of working.

Lackey does dice rolls. Plugin creation isn't actually too bad. Part of the thing that's taken me so long on the sailor moon plugin is I've been adding the starter decks.

Just to set the record straight. I created, released, maintained and hosted over 50 Lackey plugins, including .Hack//ENEMY, 24, 7th Sea, AGOT, AVP, Austin Powers, Avatar - The Last Airbender, Battletech, Ben10, Buffy, Chaotic, Conan, Corunea, DarkEden, Doomtrooper, Dragonball CCG, Dreamblade, Dune, Epic, Eye Of Judgment, Fight Klub, High Stakes Drifter, Highlander, Horus Heresy, Huntik, Initial-D, Kingdom Hearts, MECCG, MegaMan, Naruto, Neopets, Ophidian 2350, Power Rangers, Sailor Moon, Simpsons, SonicX, Stargate, The Nightmare Before Christmas, VS-System, WH40K, WarCry, Wars, Wing Commander, X-Files, Xena, Young Jedi.

I also hosted "lost and found" plugins from other sources, e.g. Case Closed, Dragonball Z CCG, Eve - The Second Genesis, Lycee TCG, Lyoko, MLB Showdown, Maplestory TCG, Rumbling Spell Orchestra, Warriors, Yuyu Hakusho, Bluemoon, as well as replacement images for many of the xgo.br plugins that were lost/damaged.

Add to this the fact that I also wrote the "Idiot's Guide to Creating Lackey Plugins" and the LackeyCCG PluginEditor software and you can see that i did a bit more than "host a few plugins".

I sir, salute you. Dot Hack! Oh man, thats one for sure.

Airbender was a huge disapointment. What a lack luster of a mechanic for a pontetlay awesome game.

Thanks for the Mapple Story one, I'm injoying it greatly!
Now to find some players :D

Also - quetion and sorry for tangent here -but is there a way to genrtate a marker that is easly movable so i can keep track of what card i am on -? I did make the marker, but i have to erase then use it again... i was using a card - but i'd like a movable arrow

also, is there a way to generate a D6 (or whatever) on the FIELD itself? this would be usefull if Magi Nation was added in.

Thanks

AFAIK, at the moment you can only create cards, and markers on those cards.

For most games, it's worth (or necessary) setting the option, "View markers as numbers", which would work fine for Energy in MND.  Bit of a pain for tracking your progress - but using a spawned card is fine too.

One way to create a moveable arrow is to create a "card" with an arrow on it :)

The Maple Story was not one of mine, just a plugin created by someone else that I hosted because it was not widely advertised.

Why did I stop? Hmmm.
Well, the short version is that a) my plugins got hijacked, and b) that Trevor is unreasonable.

I recall ages back someone... TuxedoRainbow I belive had ideas for new cards... I cant find them now, but if I get the cards the right size (not sure what size) and sugest a new set, could it be put in reletivly easy? IF so I'll glady kick out some ideas for a third set with the Outers.

My wife and I have always found the prospective of making extra sets appealing. I'm not sure I'd call it "easy", but it's not technically hard. You seem eager to kick start this process, so if you want to I can sent you an excel file containing the first set of cards and you could erase those and put the PnF set in if you wanted. That's the most time consuming part of the process.

Also, http://johnuckele.com/SailorMoon/updatelist.txt is now working.

Sailor Moon excel file for the core set. Feel free to make any corrections. If you upload a PnF version (pnf only, each set gets it's own file), I'll put up the pnf expansion sooner.

If you are actually planning to release new cards, I would suggesting creating a template for MSE (Magic Set Editor) - you need card blanks anyway if you're creating new cards, and MSE just makes the whole process trivial once the plugin is made.  Plus there is an export to Lackey function you can modify.
Title: Re: Sailor Moon CCG:
Post by: Tokimo on November 22, 2009, 08:07:59 PM
Didn't realize MSE had an export to Lackey, but I think it's more important to get the existing expansion (Past & Future) codified before anyone makes new SM cards.

Call me a total geek noob but I fail at things more then Basic, I could generate plenty of ideas and possibly even photoshop card blanks, but beound that I'd pretty much screach to a halt on what I can do, yes the system is learnable, but its just... I dont know maybe if there are video guides X_X; I'll just leave it in more capple hands and be an idea generator for now.

The file that I uploaded in an Excel Spreadsheet. You can open it in OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) if you don't have Microsoft Excel. If you open it, you will understand that it is simpler than Basic by a wide margin. It's just data. The columns are things like card name, and HP.

Also, Trevor reformatted it, so let me upload his new version. JAS (He merged the columns for card text into one. The whole formatting of the text is in general messed up, feel free to clean it up or not, but if you don't clean it up please try to pick a consistent format that will be easier to change with a script later if I want).

I've played with MSE templates a bit. Unfortunately the guides for doing this kinda bite... I can probably set up a plugin for MSE for Sailor Moon card creation in January, although there are some tricky bits in the SM cards, like the variable individual ability space on cards with HP (Mahoujo for now features flexible rule block sizes and I've abandoned that feature for the early prototypes since it's just infeasible to get a MSE template to do that nicely).

To actually put a set together with MSE the first thing would be to get blank cards. Then with a little bit of time you set up MSE to put the text onto them. Tada. Getting blank cards is the harder part of the task.

Spread sheet filling in is easy, just time consuming. MSE template creation is easy, just confusing (although some of the more advanced features actually take scripting know-how). Getting blank images is easy if you're good with GIMP, just tedious. Any way I slice it I figure I probably have 1-2 hours max that I can put into working on the Sailor Moon plugin per week until January. Once January comes I'll have time to work on this again (I think).

Yes. If you get that entered in the remaining work is relatively minor, just resizing some images (the current plugin has such TINY images X_X) and making sure the hosting is solid.

Tiny !?

Here are the original images from my plugin (approx 679 x 987).
Lemme know if you need the Promo/Chase images.
Also, lemme know when you have these, so I can delete them.

I'm having a little trouble with the Sailor Moon CCG on LackeyCCG.

I downloaded the files found at http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/show.php?i=863147&cat=1 but I didn't really know how to incorporate them into the program.  So, after doing some digging, I basically just added them in manually, following the Yu-Gi-Oh format (since Sailor Moon CCG isn't one of the games that pops up in the find plugins area).  It lets me play the game, but when I try to add one Sailor Scout Level 1 and then add a Level 2 card of the same Scout, it keeps adding it as the original Level 1 card.  It finds the cards to be duplicates of one another, rather than completely separate cards.  Does anyone know how to fix this so I can add a Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 Sailor Scout to a deck?  Thank you so much!

Does anyone know how to fix this so I can add a Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 Sailor Scout to a deck?  Thank you so much!

I can field this one. Basically LackeyCCG is only programmed to recognize that cards are different based on their name, so cards that share the same name (as with Sailor Moon and several others) cannot be added to decks properly.

The 'fix' is to rename the cards yourself, so that the level designations appear in the names column:
1. Open the file "Premier.txt" in a spreadsheet program, edit the names of all cards with duplicate names. I suggest putting unambiguous designations in parenthesis, so as not to confuse players. (ex. change 'Sailor Moon' to 'Sailor Moon (S1)' for Sailor Scout - Level 1, 'Sailor Moon (S2)', for level 2 and so on.)

2. Save and close the file

3. Open "Premier.txt" in notepad or something similar and remove any junk symbols like " " that may have appeared due to formatting in another program.

Now it should load fine, and you will be able to create decks properly.

I think this method is a little bothersome, especially for people who are merely trying to maintain old plugins (or plugin creators who weren't aware of the bug), because many games are very specific about what a card's name is, as opposed to its type, signification, affiliation, etc. (for example, one card might say, 'discard all cards with the name XXX', which would be different from saying, 'discard all cards with XXX in the name'). In any case, Trevor assured me it's a problem with the card game's original design, not his program  :-\
Title: Re: Sailor Moon CCG:
Post by: Trevor on August 09, 2011, 03:26:10 PM
If you want to be able to specify a deck by just the card name, the only way to do that is to have unique card names. I could have allowed same names for different cards, but the alternative is better.

Hi There!
I recently collected a full set of the cards from the core set of the Sailor Moon CCG.
If you would like to remake the plugin, you can use this list here to generate the card names: http://wikimoon.org/index.php?title=Sailor_Moon_Collectible_Card_Game

If you have any trouble locating any of the specific card image, I can scan them as some of the cards are quite hard to come by.
Thanks and good luck! :)
