Title: Lackey and Windows 8 (compatibility)
Post by: enjiel on December 26, 2012, 07:01:49 PM
So I installed Windows 8 and now Lackey runs slowly.  I ran the updater and re installed my plugins.  (There were some issues with my plugins for some reason, but re installing them fixed it)

I've tried the following:
I'm running Lackey in Compatibility Mode Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
I tried running in "reduced color (16 bit)
I'm running as Admin
I also tried boosting the priority to "High".  It still runs quite sluggish.

Has anyone happened to come across a better fix for this?
I'll keep researching and trying things and will post if I find something that works.

If I Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution it works fine, but the scaling is terrible and you can't really see what's going on.  Plus 1/4 of the screen is interrupted by Windows.

Yeah, I'm not sure why or what it is but Lackey is very very slow on Windows 8 regardless of the settings you've got.

This is usually caused by an out of date OpenGL driver or something along those lines.
