RSO is a Touhou themed trading card game designed in 2006 by Hinafuda a group who makes quite a few Touhou themed card games.

Rules for gameplay, deck building and a card archives are at the wiki http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Rumbling_Spell_Orchestra/Gameplay

It plays similarly to Magic:The Gathering and World of Warcraft card games. Both players start with 4 specifically chosen characters and the deck completely revolves around them (with some general cards that everyone can use). Multiple copies of characters are allowed, meaning you can only use cards that use those characters and if you have more of a single character then you gain access to their stronger cards. Example is say 4Remilia = Level 4 Remilia or 2Koishi/2Satori = Level 2Koishi/Level 2Satori. So you can use everything in Remilia's kit (as well as General cards) and for the other, you can only use level 2 or less cards from both Koishi and Satori kits (as well as generals again). Team ratios can be 4, 3/1 or 1/3, 2/2, 2/1/1 or 1/1/2, or 1/1/1/1.  The higher the level, the more powerful cards you'll gain access to, however teams have access to Team Cards to compensate for the lost of powerful cards and abilities.

Decks include Spell cards, Support cards, and Event cards. You gain SP based on how many Spells you have down in play. (Similar to land and mana in MtG. Then you use that SP that you've accumulated to activate Spells for battle, playing equipment supports and 1 time Events. Its a simple game and its really easy to play, especially if you've played the aforementioned card games. Even if you haven't its still a very simple game because ALL the cards tell you when you can play them. All you, the player, really needs to know are the 4 phases of the game and what you can do in each one, how to calculate battle and know the Basic Abilities (similar to keywords in Magic like Trample, Flying, Wither etc etc.)

All of this is detailed in the Wiki link provided earlier and by clicking Gameplay, there are 2 charts there and 1 made for beginners to help them learn the gameplay flow as well.

There are currently 42 heroines/characters in the game. Ranging from the official Touhou games EoSD to TD. Mostly stage 3-EX level characters including, Reimu, Remilia, Yukari, Suika, Kaguya, Aya, Sanae, Komachi, Tenshi, Byakuren, Orin, Kogasa, etc etc. The game uses as much canon information as possible with some fanon references and nicknames "Malice Cannon" Event card for example. Trying to remember where all the "flavor text" or quotes at the bottom of events and supports is pretty fun as well. All the characters have their own gimmicks and playstyles, so finding one you like most, or just playing with your favorite character are quite enjoyable times.

9.0 is released this August, bringing Cirno, the 3 Light Fairies, Miko and Mamizou into the mix as well. Speaking of release, as this is a doujin card game, Hinafuda only makes any errata changes as well as new sets every August. So it only updates once a year with new material but at this point there's tons of cards to play with (1108 cards total as of this post)
