Title: I just posted a new version of Lackey, build date 09-21-11. Post bugs here.
Post by: Trevor on September 21, 2011, 03:07:08 AM
There are 2 main changes in this version. Plugin makers can now make shared zones. Check out the "52playingcards" plugin for an example of how that works. I'm not 100% done with it, but it should be done enough for plugin makers to use it and give me feedback. The shared zone right click menus are not yet implemented. I'm doing that now.

For an example of how to make and user shared zones, check out this example:
http://lackeyccg.com/52playingcards/

The other change is I am reworking how plugin makers have control over how alternate card backs are shown. Plugin makers now have the following 3 options:
BACKVISIBILITYSHOWFACES
BACKVISIBILITYHIDEBACKINZONES
BACKVISIBILITYHIDEBACKSPECIFICSINZONES

You define it in plugininfo.txt, such as:
<definition><kind>BACKVISIBILITY</kind><value>BACKVISIBILITYHIDEBACKSPECIFICSINZONES</value></definition>
The above will show the alternate card back, but not specific info, such as the card's name. That would be useful for a game with an alternate card back that is shared by many different cards.

The issue was different card games were using alternate card back functionality in different ways. I am working to give plugin makers the power customize alternate cardback functionality to their plugin's needs.

There are probably a number of bugs, so please let me know about them and I will fix them ASAP. Please pay particular attention to things you think you should (or should not) be able to see.

I also added the ability to load cards from the deck editor to specific zones rather than all zones at once.

I am also going to investigate the error reports regarding uninstall.txt not functioning as intended.

I'll post more later....

I've just tried to update my Lackey, but it simply won't start. I have it on Windows XP (Service Pack 3) compatibility, and am running it as administrator. I think there may be a problem with my updater.. The bar will only fill to about two thirds of the length, but the updater says Lackey is ready to be launched. I've tried reinstalling Lackey, too.

If the updater.exe doesn't work, try the manual update. If the manual update doesn't work, try the updater.exe. Make sure you clear your internet cache and restart, just in case your computer is doing something weird.

I just tried the new build and it still has the same problem as the last one.

I downloaded a fresh version of Lackey and it doesn't provide the list of plugins, won't do anything when I click the "Find plugins with Plugin inder" won't let me use the pasted update URL (http://www.lackeyccg.com/starwars/high/updatelist.txt), both saying "Error: timed out while updating plugin." and the LackeyCCGUpdater.exe won't update Lackey. It gives me "Download failed. Error = 0x800C0005" and "No message available."

I'm using Windows XP over a wireless connection.

Simply install the 52playingcards plugin

Very nice feature btw... I think this will come handy for some plugins.

It seems as though it's not being allowed to download anything. The updater.exe and LackeyCCG.exe use different functions for downloading things, so that implies it's a more general issue and probably not related directly to Lackey. I suspect the issue is that your OS is doing something dumb, like not giving you permission to download the files, or alter things in that directory. Try running Lackey as an administrator. Also, try updating your OS and drivers.

with shard zones discarding dose not work as it goes to some invisible zone i will do more experiments to see where it goes.
also having general functions that discard put's it to table if discard is shared.
the Discard X remove that cards from the game completely never to be seen a gen.

That's entirely possible. Microsoft won't let me update my OS because I've been offline so long (I think that's the reason), and when I attempted to update manually, it screwed up some of my settings, and maybe some of my drivers.

As for Lackey, I'm curious why all the necessary files aren't included in the download, such as the pluginfinder file.

Can someone give me a link to the file. Maybe I might be able to get around some of my problem. Not likely, but it's worth a try. I'm able to download normally on my computer, but whatever Lackey is doing to download, it's being stopped.
If you can't download the file with lackey, you won't be able to download anything.
http://lackeyccg.com/pluginfinder.txt is where Lackey looks, and it is a working link. I think this issue is specific to your computer and not related to lackey. Maybe try it on a different computer? If you do and it works, that means it is indeed specific to that computer and it will help diagnose the issue.

Probably not that big a bug, but after the update a whole load of cards are appearing as half size (using the Magic plugin). I've tried updating in both the high and medium quaity plugin, but the problem's still there.

If you see the wrong size cards, its because you downloaded the wrong size cards at one point in time. This is not a bug, but I am thinking of a way to better handle this issue. To fix it now, you need to manually delete the card image files. To do this simply, you can delete all folders (besides general/) in your setimages/ folder.

I'm gettin an error that whenever I (or 2 of my friends!) put any Innistrad cards on the table, each other sees another set (Or Innistrad, but another card) card image. This happens only as we play with ourselves as I've played with some other person and I've seen his images or innistrad cards and he has seen mine just fine.

Example:
I put an Innistrad Forest on table and she sees an coldsnap card.
She puts four innistrad cards (one being Elder Cathar as she said) but I see threeInvasion cards (Lackey downloads images for them! ) and that Elder Cathar is a Innistrad Shimmering Grotto.

We can't play with ourselves this way. Situation is really strange. Please, do you have any solution?

While I don't know the details of the M:tG Plugin to know on exactly whose side it is, what you are mentioning is a textbook example of a plugin desync. The most common culprit is an extra text file in the sets folder that shouldn't be there.

The most surefire way to fix it is to delete all text files in your plugin's /sets folder (don't delete setimages) and then redownload the plugin. Ask your friend to do the same.

This sounds like what happens when you don't have the same version of the plugin. Are you getting warnings to that effect when you connect?

I don't think this is a lackey bug.

Pokemon Game is still bugged;

players see different cards played by one another.

This is also likely due to different versions of the plugin. Do you get warnings to that effect when you connect? How many cards dp you see total in the deck editor, and how many do they see?
