Title: NEW MTG FORMAT "Super Standard"
Post by: B-Dogg on August 11, 2011, 01:43:14 PM
The rules are simple. Any deck that has ever been legal in Standard is legal in Super Standard.
Also, any card that has ever been banned in Standard is banned in Super Standard (Stoneforge, Jace, Skullclamp, Artifact lands, etc.)

For example, you can play Zen block + SoM block Caw-Blade, Alara block + Lorwyn block Faeries, etc, etc.

Any questions, comments, or complaints are welcomed.

This is called BYOS, or Bring Your Own Standard, and was inspired by BYOB, Bring Your Own Block, which is funny because of Bring Your Own Beer

I believe BYOS is a tad bit different from mine. Anytime I've played BYOS, I was allowed to choose any 2 blocks and a core set with which to make a deck. You can't do this in "Super Standard".

Ah I always heard that called Build Your Own Standard, and because of the very subtle distinction it didn't use the abbreviation. I'm sure its different play group to play group
